Pineapple Upside Down Cake
This is a very sweet, delicious cake that makes a great dessert!
Prep Time: 20 mins
Cook Time: 1hr
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 20oz can pineapple slices or chunks, drained
10 maraschino cherries
1 (18oz) package white or yellow cake mix
1) Melt butter over medium heat in a 9" cast iron skillet. Remove from heat and sprinkle brown sugar evenly to cover butter.
2) Arrange pineapple in a single layer on brown sugar, place cherries in center of rings.
3) Prepare cake mix as directed on box, pour batter over the pineapple layer.
4) Bake in preheated oven as directed by cake mix directions. Once it's cooked, Cool for 10 mins then turn out onto a plate.
Note: add aluminum foil under the pan one shelf below Cake as it's cooking to collect the pineapple juices to prevent burning in your oven.
